Shannon L. Austin, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Shannon grew up in Sullivan, Indiana on a grain and livestock farm. She attended Indiana State University for her undergraduate program and Ball State University for her graduate program. 

Dr. Shannon previously spent fifteen years in clinical audiology on Indianapolis’ west side as well as six years teaching undergraduate Audiology courses at Butler University. She loves to teach and mentor audiology students and has been a clinical supervisor for students from Ball State, Purdue, and Indiana University. She also has three years of industry experience as an Account Executive for a major hearing aid manufacturer. 

As our clinic owner and practicing Audiologist, Dr. Shannon loves connecting patients to their families and friends and building long-term relationships with her patients as they navigate their hearing health journey.  

SLA Audiology fulfills a dream of private practice ownership and brings her back to her genuine joy of patient care. 

Dr. Shannon does have a life outside of the clinic, even if she says herself that she basically lives here! With two college-aged daughters, she and her husband like to travel.
