Danielle J. Smith, Au.D.
Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Danielle J. Smith grew up in the small town of Warren, Indiana.
During her undergraduate studies, she began exploring different career paths after deciding that veterinary medicine wasn't the right fit. While taking Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences courses, her grandmother received her first set of hearing aids. Although her grandmother had always been bright and outgoing, hearing loss gradually caused her to withdraw from conversations and social gatherings. Seeing her reconnect with family and friends after receiving hearing care inspired Dr. Smith to pursue a career in audiology.
Dr. Smith recently graduated from Purdue University with her Doctor of Audiology degree. Throughout her clinical rotations, she worked with patients of all ages - from infants to older adults in hospital, Veterans Affairs (VA), university, and private practice settings. She completed her year-long externship at a private practice in South Carolina, where she focused primarily on adult diagnostic evaluations and hearing aid services.
As one of our Doctors of Audiology, Dr. Smith enjoys helping patients improve their hearing health and reconnect with the people and activities they love. Similar to her own grandmother's experience, she finds it incredibly rewarding to watch patients regain their confidence and see their personalities shine through as their hearing improves.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog. She is also excited to be back in Indiana and looks forward to attending more Purdue sporting events.
